Planning a Long-Distance Move From College Park, MD
The first question for a College Park departure is what kind of property you are leaving: a privately managed apartment, a house, or university housing. The access rules may differ. Mid Atlantic Van Lines can review the requested route and inventory and discuss an estimate and availability. Interstate service requires confirmation of the required operating authorization before booking.

Campus Housing and Off-Campus Homes Require Different Plans
If your origin is in a University of Maryland residence hall, check the university’s move-out guidance for assigned times and loading rules; those instructions can change by term. Confirm whether the particular residence hall allows the planned vehicle and how belongings may be removed. For an off-campus rental, get the property manager’s move-out instructions, elevator reservation process, and access to legal loading. We do not assume that a regular parking permit is a loading authorization.
Decide What Is Actually Going
Separate belongings to move from things to donate, discard, or leave with a roommate. Make a furniture list and approximate box count. Note fragile items, large pieces, and any packing assistance you want to discuss. At the destination, check the move-in schedule and building access before finalizing the written scope.
- Exact pickup and destination addresses, buildings, and unit numbers
- Preferred date and any required check-out or move-in time
- Inventory, including items stored outside the main room
- Elevators, stairs, legal loading, and carry distance at both locations
- Changes to the route or inventory before booking
